There's a lot of work that goes into making wine. We need to grow the grapes (yes, we spend about 75% of our time on farming!), we need to harvest the fruit, and we need to crush the fruit for juice.
Only then can we begin the process that most people associate with the making of wine. Not only do we grow many different varieties of grapes, but we also grow some of each of the berries and tree-borne fruit from which we make our wines. Each grape variety may be ready at different times, so the harvest can last several months. We take up our clippers and our yellow flats and head off into the grape vines.
